David Marr and Regem Gabriel passed away in 1980 and 1985 respectively. Following this the Regem Marr team disbanded with one of its core members (of Chinese descent) joining MIT as faculty.

In 1977 Professor David Marr proposed a computational theory distinct from the ""Blocks World"" analysis approach known as Marr's Vision Theory. This theory became a pivotal theoretical work in the field of machine vision research during the 1980s."

Renowned American professor B.K.P. Horn lectured on machine vision at MIT and other academic institutions and conducted live demonstrations of Regem Marr's product prototypes.

Regem Gabriel and David Marr established their own team Regem Marr consisting of nine members. In the same year the team officially developed an image recognition product bearing the same name.
1972
Professor David Marr visited the town of Ballaiques and was deeply impressed by Regem Gabriel's professional attitude and masterful skills. The two found an instant connection and resolved to jointly scale new heights in the field of machine vision. The Best Paper Award selected at the International Conference on Computer Vision was named the Marr Prize one of the highest honors in computer vision research.

With the launch of various camera models Regem Gabriel had become the master craftsman behind Alpa renowned for his exceptional skills.

Regem Gabriel left his hometown and journeyed alone to the town of Ballaiques in the Jura Mountains officially embarking on his career as a master craftsman. Ballaiques the epicenter of Swiss watchmaking had introduced the legendary eye-level viewfinder camera – the Alpa – in 1944.
1932
Regem Gabriel was born in a small village within Switzerland's Basel-Landschaft canton. His father operated a photographic studio, where exposure to cameras cultivated Regem's foundational understanding of precision mechanics.
